Gall Bladder Surgery

Yesterday (Wednesday, March 3) I had a fun little visit to the hospital. I had my gall bladder removed. I had to be there by 5:30 a.m. and we were home by 11:30 a.m.. Everything went fine except when I came out of the anethesia I couldn't breathe. I have never been so scared in my life! Being real groggy I didn't really know a lot about what was going on but I tried to sit up. I kept telling the nurse and some other guy in there I couldn't breathe. I was serious! The anesthesiologist said that sometimes the anesthetic paralyzes the lungs. Plus, they pump gas into your body cavity to do the surgery which also puts pressure on the lungs. It wasn't my asthma; I could tell that. I just couldn't even get air down my throat. It took about ten minutes before I could relax. Hope I NEVER have an experience like that again. I'm going to go to work tomorrow, but I have a feeling the kids aren't going to have to do much. Bet they're gonna like that!

I've had the same experience. I couldn't talk. Now I ask for the least amount of medicine to put me out. I honestly can't believe you went back to teach. It took me five days to feel well.
