Granny's 90th birthday celebration

On December 31, 2011, New Year's Eve, we had a celebration for mom's 90th birthday. Her birthday is actually on New Year's Day. We had an announcement in the newspaper, had tons of family show up, and just had a great time. I was sad Cashelle and A.J.'s family couldn't be there, but since they live in California now, it was kind of impossible. Here is mom with all six kids: Kelly, Becky, Kathy, Rick (yes, he showed up--shock, shock), Dave, and Gary.
Then, a picture of the grandkids--Brice, Patrick, Cary, Candy, Chris, Heather, Josh, Elisa, Regina, Angie, and Lacey with Granny.
Then a picture of all the great grandkids that were there: I had to take two pictures--this first one wasn't the best one, but in the second one Ryan was making bunny ears on Annalynn. Ashley, Allison, Dustin, Ryan, Annalynn, Missy, Aimee, Felecia, Dakota, Isaak, Christian, Kailee, Jayleigh, Cody, and Carter.

Grandma Kjar, who is 92 now, stopped by to visit. We had a really nice visit. We made Granny a scrapbook. All the families made their own pages and we put them in a beautiful book that Kathy made. It turned out great.

We had cake and a wonderful slush that Sidnee and Gary made. Candy had the banner in the first picture made. She also had these napkins printed. Happy 90th birthday, mom!

Christmas 2011

Jayleigh helped make cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. She had to make sure he had milk and cookies to eat!
Christmas morning, Jayleigh was so cute. She would take off a little piece of the wrapping and then take it to Grandpa to put in the garbage bag. It took quite a while to open the presents!

The day after Christmas, we traveled to Cedar City to Chris and Amanda's. It's so much fun to see the kids open presents. I live for that.

Christmas 2011 in St. George

Our annual trip to St. George for a Christmas get together was another huge success. Curt decided everyone needed ice cream, so he bought some. He also bought each room their own gallon of chocolate milk and cups (except for us--what's that all about?). Chris and Amanda are looking at our present from the kids--they had my blog published into a hardbound book--from the whole time I have been blogging! What an awesome present!!!!
The kids waiting for their ice cream
Cashelle and A.J.'s room was a family suite. Their beds were in the walls. They had 3 beds all together. I didn't get any pictures of us swimming, but we did go swimming--a lot! One embarrassing moment was when Thurl Bailey (yes, the ex-Jazz player/announcer) stopped by to talk to us while we were in the hot tob. Yikes! Thurl Bailey saw me in a swimming suit!

We had family pictures taken in St. George at the Tuacahn (thanks Jared, Allison, and Amanda!). These are some taken with my camera.

Oops, out of order. Gee whiz, I thought I had this all figured out. Here we are at breakfast in the morning.
Miley got to stay in our room. Curt really enjoyed her. She slept by me, though.
Back to the Tuacahn.....

Curt and I gave all three families a copy of the recordable "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." It was a big hit. We had so much fun getting them recorded. We had to read each page a few times to get it right.

Madalynn wanted to try her hand at photography. These next two pictures she took. Good job, Maddy!

Loved, loved, loved the get together. Can't wait to do it again!
