Can I just tell you how irate I am at the moment? Today, my 87-year-old mother got a phone call from a gentleman (I wouldn't call him a gentleman--let's just say a male) who said he was calling about her "favorite grandson." She said, "I don't have a favorite grandson. They're all my favorites." Then this guy said he was calling from Canada and that her "favorite" grandson had been hurt in an accident, and they needed money to cover a rental car. He only needed $2,000. She told him she didn't have that kind of money. Then he had the nerve to ask her "what about a credit card number then?" She said she didn't have a credit card either. The conversation ended.
I am so MAD at these predators who can't get off their *&^#$% and get a job and work like the rest of us. Any of you reading this, DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO ANYONE! If it is that important, they can find another way to get in touch with you.
Needless to say, I called the sheriff's office to report it. You'd think they could trace the phone number and find out where it's coming from. Don't any of you fall for this scam. Something should be done to the scumbags.
Welcome to Curt and Becky's blog site. Our oldest daughter, Cashelle, married A.J. in May of 2001, and they have four children--Madalynn, Audrey, Thomas, and Spencer. Our son, Chris, has two sons, Cody and Carter. Lacey, our youngest daughter, married Landon in May of 2007. They have a daughter and a son, Jayleigh and Easton. We love our family!

We've got swings!
We can enterain the grandkids now! In our backyard area we have added a swing set (three swings), a rope swing and a slide to the yard along with the cabin, trampoline, and lots of lawn to play on. I think the kids will have a lot of fun on this bumpy slide. I wish we could have afforded a nice swing set like this when our kids were young. I always wanted one--just couldn't get the funds together to get it done. Three swings will keep three of them entertained at the same time. The swing set is really tall, at least 12 feet. I think they'll have a lot of fun on it. I can even swing on it. I must have looked kind of silly out there trying out the new swing. I hope nobody saw me. It's going to look even funnier when I start using the trampoline--that's my plan for exercise, along with my tread mill that I love.

Easter Weekend Update
OK, I know it's been a while. Finally, I'm updating . . . . It has really been a fun Easter Week. Cashelle and her four kids came to stay the full week before Easter since Madalynn had off all week. It was so much fun having them here. She got to really visit the Grandmas like she really wanted to and was able to help them out with odd jobs a little bit. She even helped me clean out two cupboards and my pantry and fridge. They look so nice now. Anyway, one of her goals was to visit the Fairview Museum. So, we loaded up her van and Chris's truck--Grandma Duncan even went with us. We were so excited to finally see the wooly mammoth that we had talked about so much all week. Here was a picture I took of a picture of the Manti Temple many years ago. The house on the lefthand corner is a home my parents lived in when they moved from Minnesota. It was at the foot of the temple where chairs are no set up for the Mormon Miracle Pageant.
The girls loved this part of the museum. They learned how to use a dial-up phone. In the display case was all the old workings to get the phone to work. On the phone on the left you dialed, then the phone on the right would ring. But as you dialed you could watch all the old switching that took place to place a phone call.
Granny and Tommy sitting on a bench at the museum. Granny trapsed up the old cement stairs to see the old museum displays. Her dad worked for the Green Thumb project that did a lot of work at the museum.
Sitting on the bench, waiting for Cashelle to exit the museum. It was fascinating. You could spend hours and hours there. After the museum we all went to McDonald's for lunch. The kids LOVED being able to play on the McDonald's playground.
Egg coloring time--here's Audrey working on one with Chris in the background.
Cody had a really fun time learning how to dye the eggs.
Madalynn getting ready to dunk one.
Tommy got more on his hands than the eggs, I think.
What a fun day!
The Easter Bunny visited the kids on Saturday instead of Sunday because Cashelle's family had to leave on Saturday. This is Cody with his Easter basket. He learned how to do an Easter egg hunt this year--in the rain!
Jayleigh and her Easter basket.
Thomas picking up eggs during the egg hunt.
Audrey filling her basket . . . .
Madalynn is behind the lilac bush if you look really hard. Click on the picture and you can see an egg in the lilac bushes. Sorry Madalynn, I didn't want to get my camera wet.
Lacey fixed Jayleigh's hair with gel. It looked so cute! It is cute, huh Landon?
Saturday we had a family picnic at our house. The kids really enjoyed the trampoline . . . .
and the wagon--I think they all got a turn. And the little 4-wheeler which I didn't get a picture of. Chris has a little 4-wheeler that he let all the kids have a turn driving.
Since it was so cold outside, we set up tables inside in the garage. It really worked out nice. John did three dutch ovens of a chicken stew that was to die for!
In the garage . . . .
More in the garage . . . .
In the garage . . . .
and in the house, too. We had a houseful.
After lunch, we braved the weather and went out west to roll Easter eggs. We found a nice steep hill, the men dug the trenches, and away the eggs went.
This is only a few of the family rolling eggs. The kids had a blast until Becky tried to throw an egg at Chris and hit Alexa instead. I'm sorry, Alexa! The eggshell even cut her cheek--that's the last time I try to throw an egg with kids around!
Rolling, rolling, rolling . . . . keep those eggs a-rolling . . . .
